The Piano Teacher has a rating of 3.34 on Goodreads and I’ll conclude by saying that is exactly what is deserves, if not less. There were a few minor characters who were mildly interesting, but not enough for me to care about them or this book. Claire Pendleton, the piano teacher, was spineless, unbearably naïve, immature and immensely irritating. Will Truesdale, another main character, was as dull as ditchwater and utterly forgettable. In fact the only reason that the idea of Trudy being considered charming crossed my mind is because the author beat me over the head with that “fact” at every opportunity she could. Trudy Liang, one of the main characters, is apparently so charming she can sell ice to Eskimos, but I found her obnoxious AF. The main reason it would have been a 1 star read was because all the main characters were so goddamn unlikeable. This would have been a 1 star read were it not for the fact that the story picked up midway through the book and became mildly interesting. The reason it took me two weeks to finish it is because this book was DREADFULLY DULL!! Before you start Complete The Piano Teacher: A Novel PDF by Janice Y.K. You’d think the reason for that is The Piano Teacher is some massive tome, but nope. The Piano Teacher: A Novel by Janice Y.K. The Paperback of the The Piano Teacher by Janice Y. It took me two weeks to get through it, yet none of the 18 books I read before took me longer than one week to complete. 99 IN 1952, recently married Claire and her husband Martin Pendleton arrive in Hong Kong where he works as an engineer in water services. The Piano Teacher was my 19th read of the year.
